Did LastPass loose my Google logins?

Posted: 2011/09/15 in Uncategorized

I’m a VERY glad and proud user of LastPass (http://lastpass.com).  I would buy the $12/year (yes, per YEAR!) subscription even if I only needed the free features.  And I have Steve Gibson (http://www.grc.com), the genius!, to thank for turning me on to LastPass: not only its functionality, but its security also.

So when I typed “mail.google.com” into my address bar yesterday (September 14, 2011), I was not met with my list o’ accounts in my LastPass bar like always.  I had no accounts listed.  Crud.  I’ve been having issues with my Xmarks (bought by LastPass) bookmarks, so I thought my issues lay there.  Nope.

Google has changed its login URL scheme from http://www.google.com/accounts/ServiceLogin?… to http://accounts.google.com/ServiceLogin?…

So all I had to do was go through my (is it 8 now?!?) LastPass records for google.com and change the URLs to be accounts.google….

.

And the world is made right again (hehe).
